A Body in Motion
…stays in motion.
There’s a constant struggle to see ourselves clearly, to know exactly who we are at any moment. But how can you know something that is continuously changing? You can only keep track of what you have observed so far, and use that to shape who you might become.
A Body in Motion is my way of trying to do that — to take snapshots of what I’ve been thinking, learning, and doing while in flux.

I’m Apoorva! I’m currently an undergrad at Stanford studying math + computer science, and I’m also minoring in biology and political science. While at Stanford, I’ve dabbled in a few things: number theory, outdoors trip leading, privacy law and environmental compliance, amateur oceanography, computational earth systems, formal theory (game theory for political contexts), all while drinking a lot of coffee.
I also make art! I love to oil paint and make portraits of people for their birthdays.

If any of the above sounds interesting. :) I also like thinking about how to find meaning in an increasingly frictionless world, exploring by seeking randomness, and making bad metaphors out of theoretical concepts that have the misfortune of crossing my path. (Note this Substack being named after Newton’s Law of Inertia…not so original!)
Please feel free to reach out anytime (either here or at apoorvapanidapu@gmail.com). Whether it’s to challenge something I said, tell me something new, or just trade some thoughts, I’d love to hear from you.
With love,
Apoorva
